Follow up report from Munich 2025
An extended Intradco Global team returned from Transport Logistic 2025 in Munich with a wealth of highly technical insights that will inform our next generation of design, operational strategy, and customer solutions. The event reinforced our view that specialist animal transport providers must combine rigorous engineering, sophisticated data integration, and operational partnership to meet the demands of a changing market.
While the atmosphere was warm and human, full of valuable reconnections and new introductions, the professional content of the fair delivered concrete, actionable intelligence. Attending multiple sessions and meeting with an energising spread of our stakeholders enabled us to distil the following key technical findings.
Predictive Integration and API-Led Logistics Architecture
A clear trend was the maturing of fully event-driven logistics platforms that consume and share real-time operational data across partners, airports, and regulatory authorities. It is no longer enough to provide customers with passive track-and-trace links. Instead, systems are designed to adjust routing, reallocate aircraft capacity, and update customs pre-clearance automatically in response to real-world changes.
One exhibitor demonstrated how their system dynamically reroutes cargo around airspace closures using real-time NOTAM feeds and weather layers, automatically updating bookings in minutes. That level of live orchestration is becoming the baseline expectation.
For Intradco Global, this reinforces our development roadmap for live integration of stall availability, aircraft configurations, animal health records, and welfare compliance data via secure APIs with airline and airport systems.
Advanced Materials and Load-Optimised Equipment
Manufacturers showcased precise engineering advances focused on weight reduction without compromising structural integrity. These included high-strength alloys with optimised weld profiles, CNC-cut reinforcement ribs to reduce stress concentrations, and composite panels with superior humidity resistance.
We examined a stall design using aerospace-grade aluminium with variable thickness extrusion, achieving 12% weight savings while passing all dynamic load tests. These aren’t superficial tweaks, they’re real gains in carbon reduction and payload efficiency.
Our takeaway is clear: we will prioritise the use of validated flight data to simulate load cycles, vibration spectra, and cleaning chemical exposures, feeding this back into our own stall R&D to improve lifecycle durability and reduce environmental impact.
Digital Twins and Scenario Modelling for Resilience
A highlight was the adoption of digital twin technologies capable of simulating entire logistics chains, with high-fidelity modelling of airport congestion, handling time variability, and geopolitical risk overlays. These tools are operationalised to test contingency plans proactively.
We attended a session where a carrier demonstrated routing shifts in real time, triggered by modelled political unrest scenarios. The system recalculated capacity options, including alternative aircraft types and hub infrastructure availability.
For Intradco Global, this validates our work on predictive scenario planning for live animal transport, anticipating quarantine facility capacity, route clearance constraints, and airline schedule volatility before the animal is even booked.
Carbon Accounting and Verified Reduction Pathways
Decarbonisation is no longer about voluntary offsetting. Exhibitors and airlines demonstrated data-verified reduction plans, including well-to-wake fuel models and stall design that explicitly reduces repositioning requirements through better stacking efficiency.
We had a technical discussion on integrating live fuel-burn data feeds with carbon ledger systems, enabling route and load planning that actually optimises for emissions reduction in real time.
This confirms our strategy of designing collapsible stalls with precise stack height constraints (e.g., sub-400 mm collapsed form) to maximise backhaul opportunities, directly reducing repositioning flight emissions.
Harmonised Regulatory Data Exchange
Fragmented veterinary and customs requirements remain a significant barrier to seamless animal transport. However, serious progress was evident in pilot programmes testing structured pre-clearance data exchanges, including digital health certificates and secure customs declarations integrated with airline systems.
We reviewed a blockchain-backed health cert prototype enabling near-instant validation by destination authorities. It’s early days but could cut clearance delays dramatically.

Human Factor and Training as Competitive Differentiators
Despite the digital focus, there was strong recognition that animal transport requires skilled, well-trained human involvement at every stage. Automation can accelerate and standardise workflows, but animal welfare inspection, behavioural management, and crisis response depend on experienced staff.
One speaker put it perfectly: ‘Data informs you, but it doesn’t soothe a stressed horse.’ That perspective was consistent across panels.
