Intradco Global transport 12 alpacas to a new life in Azerbaijan
Last week, Intradco Global transported 12 alpacas to a new life in Azerbaijan. The group consisted of nine females, two of which had cria (young alpaca) that were weaning, and one male, in total they weighed 1,500kgs. They departed from Hahn Airport, Germany (HHN) on a direct flight that took 5 hours before landing in Baku Airport, Azerbaijan (GYD).
This project was not without its challenges, in order to create a safe travelling environment for the young, the Intradco Global team had to come up with a bespoke solution. They built a crate that would keep the male away from the females and a separate section for the young. To achieve this the ground team had to assess the space available and position the dividers with precision to provide optimum space for the animals. The alpacas travelled comfortably arrived safely and on time.
As always, the success of these projects is a result of the exceptional teamwork and dedication of all those involved. A particular thank you to Operations team member Aly Khan and Ground Operations Manager Zac Carroll who made sure our furry passengers were comfortable and happy throughout the night whilst they were at the airport waiting for their flight.
This was not the first time Intradco Global has transported alpacas to Azerbaijan. We have successfully completed this flight several times. The alpaca’s new life is in a spacious home where they have plenty of room to roam. They will be used for cruelty-free and sustainable wool for clothing production. Alpaca wool is considered to be a high-quality product due to its superb qualities of durability and being hypoallergenic, much like sheep wool it is versatile but has a softer feel.
