Looking back at one of our standout shipments from last year, Intradco Global successfully completed a complex genetic pig transport aboard a B747-400F.
The shipment included various pig breeds, such as Yorkshire, Landrace and Duroc, varying in weight and sex, to be delivered to different end-clients. By co-loading the animals for different clients onto one aircraft, we maximised efficiency and reduced transport costs through economies of scale.
The specific requirements of each client and the different needs of each group of animals demanded diligent load planning and in-depth flight preparations.
Our team implemented key contingency measures, such as providing spare crates to distribute the pigs more evenly on the day of the flight and minimising waiting time on the plane before the departure, ensuring a stress-free and comfortable journey for the animals.
